What is it?

This workshop provides an introduction to using the Sparx Systems’ Enterprise Architect UML and SysML modelling tool.
The workshop consists of tutor-guided hands-on exercises covering a number of topics, including:
The background and use of the tool
Implementing base projects
The use of reference data to help standardise and streamline tool use in an organisation
Stereotypes, profiles & patterns
Model consistency & navigation

Target Audience

This workshop is aimed at system and software engineers that have a working knowledge of both the Sparx’ Enterprise Architect tool & Model-based Systems Engineering (MBSE), and who want to cover some of EA’s more advanced features.

Understand some of the key EA settings that allow EA to be configured according to a user’s preferences
Understand how to structure an EA model and the importance of defining such a structure based on the needs of the project, rather than using the defaults provided by the tool
Understand efficient short-cuts that speed-up the creation of diagrams
Understanding the importance of consistency within an EA model
Understanding how to improve model navigability through hyperlinks and cross-referencing
Understanding the fundamentals of tailoring EA through the use of profiles, stereotypes and patterns

Prerequisites

Attendance on our 1-day MBSE or 3-day MBSE course is required.
Attendance on our “Mastering SysML” course is also required if not proficient in SysML.
